NEW SCRAPPING FURNITURE!!!!!!!!!!!

BUT FIRST...............TOMORROW'S THE DAY I FLY TO SAN JUAN!!! The ship sails at 8 PM on Sunday. But our little group is going on a tour in San Juan on Sunday before we board. Will return late on the 15th.

Now, for the new furniture. Got the pieces from IKEA and had to drive over 2 hours to get to the only store in our area. Well worth the trip and I can't wait to be able to go back. I still have things to put on the wall but that will have to wait until I return from vacation.

The shelf has cubbies that are each 13 x 13.

Now, I have my sewing center right in the same vicinity so I can sew so easily on my layouts...oh, yes, I have mending to do as well.

This dining table has such a great work surface. We will be doing something with the tv area in the near future as well. You can see the computer area on the far left...nice and close to printing my pics! :0)

Thanks for stopping by and see you in about 10 days!

TWO DAYS
I signed up for Jo-Ann te Raa's on line sewing/scrapping class through SIStv called A Stitch in Time and this layout is the result of lesson #1! I've sewn a few times on a layout but this is getting me out of my little shell. Besides...I needed something to do besides pack! :0)

Little Teagan can sometimes be a challenge but she is a joy!! This particular time she found my yellow rubber gloves drying by the sink and thought they were the greatest new toy!! My little tag says, "Teagan, you are so easily amused!"

CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK!

Most people don't see it but when we all sit around and look at our old pictures we do see it! Tracy's lighter coloring may come from her dad's side of the family but she really does resemble me. It's hard to see in this layout but it's easier when you see the pics up close. Tracy's pic is on the left.
This layout is for the (OLW) One Little Word Challenge #46.

On another note...
THREE MORE DAYS TILL "TAKE OFF!"
I'm tempted to say only 2 more days because it's now almost Thursday as I type this!

Thanks for stopping by!

GOTTA LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!

Frank and I drove a little over 2 hours to go to IKEA, a little north of Cincinnati, on Sunday, looking for furniture for our downstairs...mainly for my scrap area and also for the t.v. section too. We weren't planning on buying anything on Sunday. THEN, I saw a fantastic table, reduced by $100 (and they only had a few left)!!! BUT, we were in the wrong car!

So, I just had do drive all the way back on Monday afternoon (by myself), after my Monday Morning Bowling league. This stuff is great but very heavy!! I brought home this large table and the matching wall unit. The table is actually a dining room table but I wanted a really large work space. The boxes stuck out the back of my car's hatch back and I had to tie the door down, so for over 2 hours I drove with the back door open and it was cold and very noisy! I was nervous that my knots wouldn't hold or the boxes would slip out the small open space. Thank you Girl Scouts for teaching me how to tie knots!!

As soon as I have the whole thing set up I'll be sure to take pics of my actual work space.

Wow...What an adventure for little Adam Luther! I think he travels even more than I do!

This trip to Canada was to attend the first ever Golden Xavier Awards, hosted by his friends Sandy Diane and Janet. They worked very hard to come up with all of the details of this great weekend of events! I think Adam Luther was actually there for about 2-3 weeks but the awards event only lasted a day or two.

I just finished this mini book showing all the things that he did. There were so many more photos - especially of the girls getting ready and all the kids doing some crafts, but I just couldn't include everything. I hope you enjoy celebrating along with Adam Luther and me.

pics of all the kids attending and Adam's arrival

there were some great pis of what the boys were doing while the girls were getting ready for the big night!

makes a mother proud!

And I didn't even know Adam Luther knew how to do magic tricks!

MY LITTLE SHOEBOX LAYOUT

Thank you, Laura for helping out with my header!! Now, my Blog name is inside the new box!! YAY!! I hope I can learn how to do this myself one day!

This is the first layout completed from my My Little Shoebox winnings. This one was done for the
Scrapping The Music challenge #74. The song: Stand By Your Man. I took a slightly different approach with this line: Sometimes it's hard to be a woman!

COUNTDOWN: 9 DAYS!

HELP!

I really want to change the look of my blog and as you can see, I've tried, but it just doesn't work. Any ideas? I am not getting the hang of this. I may not have the right software to do this. I hope somebody can suggest something easy!

For this "great" look, I used thecutestblogontheblock.com

WINNING PAPERS! & COUNTDOWN

I finally received my winnings from the My Little Shoebox group! To refresh, several weeks ago, Suzy posted on SIS to go to her blog, leave a comment and she (they) would pick 6 winners from all that left posts to win one of their collections; my name was at the top of the list. They asked for my top 3 choices. I received my 2nd choice, but I'm looking forward to digging into this cute stuff!

I'm starting my countdown: 12 days to this:

FISKARS FUN DAY!

CLICK ON THIS VERY SHORT VIDEO FIRST!

Saturday, February 21st.

Cave City, KY!
Over 200 participants!
7 Locally owned Scrapbooking stores from Kentucky and Tennessee participating.

What's with all those people wearing orange shirt??? Why, they're all FISKATEERS, of course! Click on the link and you can see what that's all about.

This is what they gave us when we checked in

1st class - Mini Book - GREAT Materials!

This pic show the cover of the mini we did

2nd Class - Card Making with Heidi Grace papers

3rd class - 2 Page Layout - not really my style, but I might insert pics taken during the Fiskars Day. I haven't done such a linear layout in quite a long time.

4th Class - Stamprite - I wasn't too impressed with this one. The purse favor holder was just a fold together. The 2 stamping ones didn't have bright enough paper so they look a bit dull. One of them, the yellowish one had paper that was too small so the whole stamp didn't fit on it well.

And, last but not least. I made a small purchase. Buy 2 get 1 1/2 off! Or, you could have bought 4 and got 1 free. I just did the 3. All Brand new designs

All in all, it was a fun but tiring day. They did include lunch and at the end, they even gave away a ton of tools, but I didn't stay for that. There was also crop time that lasted till 11 PM...didn't stay for that either. It snowed all the way home - about 1 1/2 hours. They said this was the first time they did an event like this and it all came out great!

Makes me really yearn for the next SISiversary in June in Franklin, TN!!

Thanks for stopping by!

GREAT INVENTION...or...WHY DIDN'T THEY HAVE THESE WHEN MY KIDS WERE LITTLE?

Well, if they had, then I know my girls might have fought over it. BUT, this is SO GREAT!

This is my little friend and we ventured out to Kroger on Friday...yes, I know...don't know what I was thinking, but when she saw this she wanted in! AND, she ASKED to be bucked!! YES! So, doing all of my shopping was practically a breeze. There's only one problem that I could come up with...it's hard to hear her when she's talking inside her little car and I'm pushing from behind. Perhaps a little intercom...

She kept wanting me to go "faster, faster!" And, when I asked her for a smile, she gave me this:
On another note...today I went to the FISKARS FUN DAY down in Cave City, KY. GREAT day. More about that in another post. Need to get all my pics together.
