WE DID IT!!!

Their first day was a huge success! There were people waiting outside before the doors opened!! Fantastic!

Last night Tracy went and bought balloons (she hates balloons!)...they just filled her car.

The store sign hasn't come in yet so Kimber decorated the front of the store.

Some views of the inside of the store during some of the slower times. There was constant traffic in the store all day!

Tomorrow's another day and we think it will be even busier.

THIS IS IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Today's the day! Scrap~N~Crap is opening!! We're all both exhausted and excited. I left the store kinda early last night. I don't know what time everyone else went home.

This was the sight as I walked into the store yesterday morning. We accomplished quite a lot in the prepping of the store. I'll post some more pics tonight...I hope!

That's about 1/2 of the list right now. More later.

THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS...

I just love this relatively new challenge blog! It focuses on the "Me" instead of just scrapping the vacations, kits, etc. The prompts have been great so far. Can't wait for the next one. I haven't been able to scrap much lately so I've missed the deadlines for several challenge blogs. I finally got to sit down and do 2 whole layouts!

The prompt for this one was to scrap about your favorite movie. There are so many that I've loved over the years but this one just stood out so much more! I'm not a big fan of Abbott & Costello movies but this one was just so different...only 1 of 2 that they didn't act together in their usual fashion.

In a song called "If you could read my mind" there's a reference to the "ghosts in a wishing well". I believe that that quote references this movie. And, this is the movie that sparked my interest in ghostly things and the supernatural. LOVE this movie!!
So, I totally missed the deadline for this one but I wanted to do it anyway.

This one is for the latest prompt about your favorite foods. Now, I didn't get to look the way I do by eating too many green beans! I love lots of different kinds of foods. But this is one that I have the hardest time to pass up. CINNAMON!! It has so many healthy advantages too!

YAY! MY ETSY SHOP IS NOW OPEN

I've gone and done it. I've opened my ETSY shop. You can find it at Embellish Me Again I only have 2 different items in it right now but I do have multiples of these items available.

I decided to collect ephemera, vintage and non-traditional items and organize them into embellishment collections.

This is my very first one. I call it "This & That". It has a wide variety of items in it.

This is what my packaging looks like for "This & That"

My second collection is called "Fun & Games". It has game pieces, music, book illustrations and things that children would like.

This is the "Fun & Games" package
I hope you'll stop by and take a look. I am working on another collection that will be called "Sew & Sew".

Thanks for looking.

PROGRESSING RIGHT ALONG...

The store is painted, all of the cabinets constructed and now to get the aisles set up with all of the slat wall for hanging products! Opening in less than 2 weeks! Check out the website: Scrap~N~Crap.

This is Kimber's office

Here are the tables & chairs for the community crop room

Oh, and Tracy creating a window display

Don't know if you can see some of the paper racks on top of the cabinets and the slat wall behind them. That's what Tracy did her display on.

Daniel hard at work constructing, yet another cabinet

And, the most important part...testing out the toys for the Children's Area!!

On to other news...the knitting is coming along too. Here is another test piece where I tried out different patterns.
Thanks for stopping by!

THE NEXT STEP

First of all, I wanted to show off my first attempt at knitting. It's only about 5" long and 15 stitches wide. Not bad for my first attempt, I think. The biggest thing was that I learned to cast on, finish off and attempting to purl! I've known the very basics of knitting for years but never did anything with it.

Now comes the back splash. The installer came yesterday. He'll need to come again on Monday to grout the tiles and then another day to seal it. It's ok. I think I made the wrong decision on the accent tiles. I chose the glass and I think I would have like the little black ones instead. Oh well! Maybe when it's really finished we'll like it better. Also, the tumbled stone came in darker than the sample stones.

Paper Racks X 43!

I went in to the store today expecting to put more cabinets together but Kimber had received a call (at 3AM!) that the paper racks were being delivered today. So, it took us several hours to unload the 43 boxes, remove the 43 paper racks and then get them into the store, pack up half of the 43 empty flat boxes into my car and then take them to the recycle center. Phew!!! But, it's coming along. They hope to finish the painting this weekend.
