Wow...What an adventure for little Adam Luther! I think he travels even more than I do!

This trip to Canada was to attend the first ever Golden Xavier Awards, hosted by his friends Sandy Diane and Janet. They worked very hard to come up with all of the details of this great weekend of events! I think Adam Luther was actually there for about 2-3 weeks but the awards event only lasted a day or two.

I just finished this mini book showing all the things that he did. There were so many more photos - especially of the girls getting ready and all the kids doing some crafts, but I just couldn't include everything. I hope you enjoy celebrating along with Adam Luther and me.

pics of all the kids attending and Adam's arrival

there were some great pis of what the boys were doing while the girls were getting ready for the big night!

makes a mother proud!

And I didn't even know Adam Luther knew how to do magic tricks!

MY LITTLE SHOEBOX LAYOUT

Thank you, Laura for helping out with my header!! Now, my Blog name is inside the new box!! YAY!! I hope I can learn how to do this myself one day!

This is the first layout completed from my My Little Shoebox winnings. This one was done for the
Scrapping The Music challenge #74. The song: Stand By Your Man. I took a slightly different approach with this line: Sometimes it's hard to be a woman!

COUNTDOWN: 9 DAYS!
My sister is already packed...I'm not quite that organized. Can you tell I'm excited??!!

HELP!

I really want to change the look of my blog and as you can see, I've tried, but it just doesn't work. Any ideas? I am not getting the hang of this. I may not have the right software to do this. I hope somebody can suggest something easy!

WINNING PAPERS! & COUNTDOWN

I finally received my winnings from the My Little Shoebox group! To refresh, several weeks ago, Suzy posted on SIS to go to her blog, leave a comment and she (they) would pick 6 winners from all that left posts to win one of their collections; my name was at the top of the list. They asked for my top 3 choices. I received my 2nd choice, but I'm looking forward to digging into this cute stuff!

I'm starting my countdown: 12 days to this:

FISKARS FUN DAY!

CLICK ON THIS VERY SHORT VIDEO FIRST!

Saturday, February 21st.

Cave City, KY!
Over 200 participants!
7 Locally owned Scrapbooking stores from Kentucky and Tennessee participating.

What's with all those people wearing orange shirt??? Why, they're all FISKATEERS, of course! Click on the link and you can see what that's all about.

This is what they gave us when we checked in

1st class - Mini Book - GREAT Materials!

This pic show the cover of the mini we did

2nd Class - Card Making with Heidi Grace papers

3rd class - 2 Page Layout - not really my style, but I might insert pics taken during the Fiskars Day. I haven't done such a linear layout in quite a long time.

4th Class - Stamprite - I wasn't too impressed with this one. The purse favor holder was just a fold together. The 2 stamping ones didn't have bright enough paper so they look a bit dull. One of them, the yellowish one had paper that was too small so the whole stamp didn't fit on it well.

And, last but not least. I made a small purchase. Buy 2 get 1 1/2 off! Or, you could have bought 4 and got 1 free. I just did the 3. All Brand new designs

All in all, it was a fun but tiring day. They did include lunch and at the end, they even gave away a ton of tools, but I didn't stay for that. There was also crop time that lasted till 11 PM...didn't stay for that either. It snowed all the way home - about 1 1/2 hours. They said this was the first time they did an event like this and it all came out great!

Makes me really yearn for the next SISiversary in June in Franklin, TN!!

GREAT INVENTION...or...WHY DIDN'T THEY HAVE THESE WHEN MY KIDS WERE LITTLE?

Well, if they had, then I know my girls might have fought over it. BUT, this is SO GREAT!

This is my little friend and we ventured out to Kroger on Friday...yes, I know...don't know what I was thinking, but when she saw this she wanted in! AND, she ASKED to be bucked!! YES! So, doing all of my shopping was practically a breeze. There's only one problem that I could come up with...it's hard to hear her when she's talking inside her little car and I'm pushing from behind. Perhaps a little intercom...

She kept wanting me to go "faster, faster!" And, when I asked her for a smile, she gave me this:
On another note...today I went to the FISKARS FUN DAY down in Cave City, KY. GREAT day. More about that in another post. Need to get all my pics together.

SCRAPPING THE MUSIC !!!

I love the Challenge blog, Scrapping The Music...the girls on the design team come up with great songs for inspiration. This song is "1, 2, 3, 4" by Plain White Ts. I've never heard of them. Frankly, I've been out of music for a while...long story, but these lyrics are just perfect all the way around and I just had to include the entire song in my layout. I know I've scrapped this photo before but I really do love it. It's hard to believe that this photo will be 29 years old in June!
The lyrics on my layout:

1,2 - 1 2 3 4
give me more lovin then i've ever had.
make it all better when i'm feelin sad.
tell me that i'm special even when i know i'm not.
make me feel good when i hurt so bad.
barely gettin mad,
im so glad i found you.
i love bein around you.
you make it easy,
as easy as 1 2,(1 2 3 4.)
theres only one thing two do three words four you.
i love you.
(i love you)
theres only one way two say those three words
and that's what i'll do.
i love you.
(i love you)
give me more lovin from the very start.
piece me back together when i fall apart.
tell me things you never even tell your closest friends.
make me feel good when i hurt so bad.
best that i've had.
im so glad that i found you.
i love bein around you.
you make it easy as easy as 1 2,(1 2 3 4.)
theres only one thing two do three words four you.
i love you.
(i love you)
theres only one way two say those three words
and that's what i'll do.
i love you.i love you
(i love you)
you make it easy, its easy as 1234
theres only one thing two do three words four you i love you
(i love you)
theres only one way two say those three words
thats what ill do i love you
(i love you)
i love you i love you.
one two three four i love you.
(iloveyou)
i love you
(i love you)

FRAME IT UP! - PART 2

I finally finished altering those wooden picture frames that I bought at Target a few weeks ago. I think I'm ok with them...this is the first time I've tried altering anything like this, so all's good. I plan on putting them on the wall in my scrap area along with some other things that I am collecting, like decorative "P"s...so far.

Now, Adam Luther would like to publicly say, "Thank You" to Miss Laura (you know who you are!) for the Monster Truck she got for him at McDonalds last week! Well, it was supposed to be a CPK for me but turned out to be a truck for him, but don't tell him he was 2nd on her list! He loves the truck because every time it crashes into something the top pops off! FUN! Kids always getting new toys...for no reason!!

SCRAPPING THE DAY AWAY!!

This was my plan all week...Sunday was gonna be my day to do what I needed to do...SCRAP and a few other minor things like some laundry and listing some Ebay auctions. I also planned to start altering those neat little wooden frames that I got at Target's Hot Spot a few weeks ago. I actually finished 2 of the 3 but I want to wait to post them until I finish all 3.

This is my entry for OLW (One Little Word). The word for this week was FUN. I looked through my recent pics for something that was fun and I found these pics of Stephanie. I have really great memories from this float trip down the Snake River in Wyoming, so I knew they were perfect. I used more of my Friendly Forest collection by Colorbok.

This is my little friend, Teagan. I take my camera everywhere so when we were at Meijer a week ago I snapped the moment. This was the first time I used a black/white photo and I think I like it. I'll try to use them again. I used more Friendly Forest and some chipboard flowers from my stash. I guess my Friendly Forest is now officially part of my Stash too.!

I also used my time to straighten, organize, review other blogs and spend some time on my favorite scrap site, Scrapinstyletv

AHOY MATEYS!!

Thanks to Barb and her Zutter, I have finally finished my mini book about Adam and his Pirate Camp from last summer. The real name of the camp is Cabbage Kids Adventure Camp and then each time we have camp we have a different theme.

This camp was a lot of fun and, for the first time, I actually had an assistant, which did help a lot! Our camper, Bradley's (the softee with the red hair) mom, Heidi and her daughter Brianna (I think), helped out on a couple of days. It was different for me but it was a huge help.

We had a total of 14 campers that came from all over the U.S. and Canada. We even had a celebrity in our midst...Ben Winkler. Don't remember him? He's the Cabbage Patch Kid from the Geico Insurance commercials. And, Ben was kind enough to sign autographs for the all of his new friends.

Next summer? Well, if we do have camp, it will be Safari Camp. Adam LOVES animals and so do most of his friends. Adam Luther is already thinking of lots of plans.

Thanks for stopping by.

MATERIAL GIRLS....or... SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE DOLLS!

Last night was Red Hot night and that can only mean something FUN! (oh, I feel a tie-in to this week's OLW challenge!)

This month was Laura's turn and I think she outdid herself. Laura supplied everyone with the base doll pattern and lots of supplies to embellish them. Several of us also brought lots of goodies to share as well. The results were...lots of interesting (to say the least) conversation and insights as well as some questionable versions of ourselves and others. Yeah, "some" of us didn't even use our own photos! I spy with my little eye a little Julianne Hough in there (way on the left with the pink boobs!) Doreen even sent her little spinning doll by mail. How dare she sun her self in Florida while we brave the weather here!!

Close up of my doll

I really like mine but not too sure about the lace sleeves.

Thank you, Laura, for the fabric heart and the beads for the bracelet and for the pattern and for setting up and for picking up dinner and for...your fun evening!

Thanks for stopping by!

WINNING IS GREAT!!!

So, I checked out this post on SIS (scrapinstyletv.com) and it was someone from My Little Shoebox promoting their new line of papers with a giveaway! So, I entered...YES...and I am one of the lucky winners. I sent in my name and address today with my 3 favorite lines...I chose
  1. Enjoy Life
  2. My Neighborhood and
  3. Who's There
I am VERY excited because I very rarely win anything. Can't wait to get the collections (don't know if I just get one or all 3 - probably just one) and play around with them!

I hope to get going on my picture frames over the weekend!!I've got a few ideas, thanks to some great SISters who pointed me in the right direction.

GREAT INVENTION!!

Boy, things sure do change! Wish I had this when mine were little! What a great little gadget, this bottle warmer. You just pour a little water in the base, place the bottle in and turn it on. In about a minute (or two) it is just the right temperature! No running the hot water, no heating water in a saucepan! This was great!!

Today I babysat for a little cutie patootie 9 month old neighbor girl. She was home from day care because she is getting over being sick so her mom asked if I could sit today. She was a little doll even though her nose ran like Niagara! But, she couldn't help it, poor thing. I took lots of pics, but I don't feel right posting any without permission...maybe later.

After that I ran to the fitness center to meet with my trainer. At least my overall body fat content is going down! That's good news. I weigh in tomorrow at Weight Watchers, so I hope that will be good news as well. Each day I see the trainer she turns up the notch a little and demands something new and different from me...things I didn't know I could do! I sure hope all of this training and Weight Watchers finally does some good!

I'm exhausted...it's been a long day. Thanks for checking in on me!
